Joanne King
TRobinson is pleased to welcome Joanne King to our team. Joanne recently earned her North Carolina Peer Support Certification, and we’re excited for her to join us in supporting those who face challenges in helping themselves. Born and raised in New Jersey, Joanne graduated in 1982 and was married for over 27 years to the love of her life, David, who passed away in 2014.
A proud mother of three and grandmother of two, she has devoted her life to her family. Joanne worked at FedEx for over 15 years before transferring to Transportation Insight. In 2016, her life took a turn that brought a whirlwind of events affecting her mental and emotional well-being.
For more than seven years, she led a support group for those who lost loved ones to suicide, stepping back when she relocated. Now a member of Christ Church in Statesville under Pastor Chip McGee and of Celebrate Recovery under Pastor Brian King, Joanne dedicates most of her time to helping those who cannot help themselves—whether they are lost, lonely, struggling with addiction, or battling depression. This passion stems from losing her son to suicide in 2016. Having faced the loss of her son and husband, as well as her own mental health struggles and anxiety, Joanne now channels her experiences into helping others who have gone through similar challenges.
